Information About CAMKAA:
Cambodia-Korea Alumni Association (CAMKAA) was found in Cambodia since 2002 under the support from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) of the Republic of Korea. At first, this association name’s “I Love Korea Club”.
From 2002 to 2004, the first president is H.E. Dr. Chea Vandeth, Assistant to H.E. Sok An, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Council of Ministers.
From 2005 until now, the second president is H.E. Prof. Chhour Y Meng, Director of National Pediatric Hospital, Ministry of Health.
On September 15, 2007, I Love Korea Club board members were held an extra-ordinary meeting at TATA Restaurant, at that time, “I Love Korea Club” was changed to “Cambodia-Korea Alumni Association”. Ever since, the association, better known by the acronym “CAMKAA“.
On December 20, 2007, the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia approved to establish CAMKAA Officially (check link here as PDF file or check here as JPG file) which was signed by H.E. Sar Keng, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia.(Check more details here for the Constitution of CAMKAA).
When we got the approval to official open our association from the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia on December 20, 2007, we held the 1st general congress to elect CAMKAA executive board members on December 22, 2007. H.E. Prof. Chhour Y Meng, Director of National Pediatric Hospital, Ministry of Health continue to lead this association until now. (Check more details here for Brief Report of CAMKAA Activities)
The Objectives of Association are as follows:
a. To promote fellowship and cooperation among the participants of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) sponsored training programs in the Republic of Korea;
b. To enhance continuous partnerships between Korea and Cambodia;
c. To facilitate the sharing of knowledge, skills and resources among KOICA training graduates by organizing academic activities such as conferences, symposiums and forums; and
d. To extend widespread exemplary services for the public good.
