The “2012 Korea-Cambodia Friendship Night” held in Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh: (KOICA, December 22, 2012): The “2012 Korea-Cambodia Friendship Night” was co-hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korean and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to enhance friendship between the Republic of Korea (RoK) and the Kingdom of Cambodia, was held in Phnom Penh on Friday, December 21, 2012.

A gala night promoting the friendship between the Republic of Korea and the Kingdom of Cambodia was held every year in Phnom Penh. This year marked the 11th annual reception with the participation of around 250 members from all relevant ministries of Cambodia including the higher ranking officers of Cambodia, the Cambodia-Korea Alumni Association (CAMKAA) members.  In addition to beautiful pictures captured by members of the Cambodia-Korean Alumni Association (CAMKAA), there were performances showcasing the two countries’ cultures​​​ including Gangnam Style Performance.

Attending the event, the RoK Ambassador to Cambodia, H.E. Kim Han Soo, said it was a fitting time for the event, and the agreement to promote the relationship between the two countries to the level of a strategic cooperative partnership. He expressed his wish that cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Cambodia would be constantly developed.

CAMKAA is an initiative among Cambodian former trainees from Korea and KOICA, which was established in 2007. At the moment, there are around 250 former Cambodian trainees from Korea who registered as members of CAMKAA, including 9 board members who are responsible for directing and managing the activities of the association.
