His Excellency Lee Kyung-soo, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Cambodia,
His Excellency Dr. Mam Bunheng, Minister of Health of the Kingdom of Cambodia,
His Excellency Cho Won-ho, Vice President of KOICA of the Republic of Korea,
Mr. Kim Byung-gwan, Representative of KOICA to Cambodia,
Prof. Chhour Y Meng, President of CAMKAA and Director of NPH,
Excellencies, Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Dear all members of Association!


As the Vice President of the Cambodia Korea Alumni Association (CAMKAA), I am delighted to report the end of our alumni year 2009; we can look back with justifiable pride on twelve months filled with accomplishment and recognition. Our accomplishments point to bold new directions for our Alumni Association. In the days to come, new goals and important challenges await us in our ongoing effort to support our members.

First, let me brief report on CAMKAA:


Name: The Cambodia Korea Alumni Association (CAMKAA)
Year of Establishment: 2002
(1) The Objectives of Association are as follows:
a) To promote fellowship and cooperation among the participants of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) sponsored training programs in the Republic of Korea;
b) To enhance continuous partnerships between Korea and Cambodia;
c) To facilitate the sharing of knowledge, skills and resources among KOICA training graduates by organizing academic activities such as conferences, symposiums and forums; and
d) To extend widespread exemplary services for the public good.

(3) Content of general activities:

3-1- Development of Korea-Cambodia cooperation, implementation of the Korea experience and applications of the knowledge obtained at the training courses organized by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KIOCA):

3-1-a- November 2006 (7 days): KOICA Alumni Association Meeting (1st):
KOICA conducts a “KOICA Alumni Association Meeting (2nd)” for 23 participants from 23 countries as part of the Korean government’s grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2006.

3-1-b- October 28 – November 3, 2007 (7 days): KOICA Alumni Association Meeting (2nd):
KOICA conducts a “KOICA Alumni Association Meeting (2nd)” for 23 participants from 23 countries as part of the Korean government’s grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2007

3-2- Regular meetings of the Executive Board Members of the Cambodia Korea Alumni Association (CAMKAA): There is an opportunity for opinion exchange and personal contacts with the officials of KOICA alumni (monthly). Minutes in English are issued by the CAMKAA Coordinator with the approval from the President or Vice President.

3-3- Updating of the data of the members of the Cambodia Korea Alumni Association (CAMKAA) annually during the Annual Reception in the end of the year and on a daily basis by sending the application forms for membership to CAMKAA Office.

3-4- Wrap-Up Reunion: Activity report, financial report, election of a new Executive Boards for the next two years.
When we got the approval to official open our association from the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia on December 20, 2007, we held the 1st general congress to elect CAMKAA executive board members on December 22, 2007.

2- June 21, 2008 (Saturday) at KOICA Cambodia Office
Discuss on: 1-Membership Form & Receipt and Invoice
2-Design Logo & Make Stamp

4-Workshop Preparation

3- October 25, 2008 (Saturday) at KOICA Cambodia Office
Discuss on: 1-Preparation the 7th Annual Reception
2-Develop CAMKAA Website
4- Seminar on Exchange Experiences of the Cambodia Korea Alumni Association August 29, 2008 at Imperial Hotel: As program, Seminar on the Cambodia Korea Alumni Association (CAMKAA) was held half day on Friday, August 29, 2008 at Imperial Hotel, Phnom Penh to review and collect suggestion from the workshop in order to provide more knowledge to the former trainees and share know-how and experiences which they have participated the training program in Korea through supporting from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
5-7th CAMKAA Annual Reception: Friday, December 26, 2008 at Imperial Hotel, this reception was help as a reminder of good memories of participants who visit to Korea.


Activities in 2009:
1- May 2, 2009 (Saturday) at KOICA Cambodia Office, Discuss on: 2009 Annual Operational Plan (AOP), 2- Membership, 3- Update Website, 4- Courtesy call on New Ambassador.
2- July 18, 2009 (Saturday) at KOICA Cambodia Office, Discuss on: 1- Prepare for 2nd Seminar in September 11, 2009, 2- Others
3- August 16, 2009 (Saturday) at KOICA Cambodia Office, Discuss on: the amended some slide presentation for the 2nd Seminar on Friday, September 11, 2009
4- September 5, 2009 (Saturday) at KOICA Cambodia Office, Discuss on: 1- Discuss on Organizing Seminar in September 11, 2009, 2- Membership, 3- Others,
5- Second Seminar on Exchange Experiences of the Cambodia Korea Alumni Association September 11, 2009 at Imperial Hotel: As program, Second Seminar on the Cambodia Korea Alumni Association (CAMKAA) was held half day on Friday, September 11, 2009 at Imperial Hotel, Phnom Penh to review and collect suggestion from the seminar in order to provide more knowledge to the former trainees and share know-how and experiences which they have participated the training program in Korea through supporting from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA)
6- November 7, 2009 (Saturday) at KOICA Cambodia Office, Discuss on: Organizing the 8th annual reception,
7-November 22 ~ 28, 2009 (7 days): 3rd KOICA Alumni Association Meeting: KOICA conducts a “3rd KOICA Alumni Association Meeting” for 23 participants from 23 countries as part of the Korean government’s grant aid and technical cooperation program for 2009,
8- December 5, 2009 (Saturday) at KOICA Cambodia Office, Discuss on: “Review Program and Schedule of the 8th CAMKAA Annual Reception”,
9-8th CAMKAA Annual Reception: Friday, December 11, 2009 at Imperial Hotel, this reception was help as a reminder of good memories of participants who visit to Korea.
Before finishing, I would like to deeply thank to the Republic of Korea and Korean people, who has provide much grant aid to develop the country of Cambodia and our Cambodian people.

I would like to thank Mr. Kim Byung-gwan, Representative of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to the Kingdom of Cambodia and Mr. Son Sung-il, Deputy Representative who have support this association.

I also would like to thank Mr. Cho Kyu Chan, Mr. Kim Yong-Pyo, the former Representative of KOICA, Mrs. Im Yong Hee, former Deputy Representative of KOICA who have also support this association. I would like also thanks Mr. Chea Vandeth, Former President of association and all members who have helped his association to achieve the result until now.

Finally, I would like to wish all Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen as national and international guests, all members of CAMKAA of happy and successful New Year.
