I believe that the most important way for developing a country’s socio-economy is to focus on human resources development. KOICA’s Development Cooperation Programs have made a significant contribution in this regard, with a total of 1,306 Cambodian participants invited to Korea from 1994 to 2008 for various training and study courses.
All of KOICA fellows are witnesses to the value of these cooperation programs and human resources development, having visited Korea and shared with Korea’s economic, industrial, technological and management experience and expertise, as well as having had the opportunity to glimpse the history and culture of the country and its people. You have all become dear friends of Korea by playing an invisible, but important role in linking our two countries closer together.
CAMKAA was established to further institutionalize the cooperation between our two countries. CAMKAA would further assure that the valuable lessons gained from the “KOICA training experience” could be sustained by the participants or trainees and applied to the advantage of their respective organizations.
The main focus of this association is to renew our acquaintances, to share our valued experiences and knowledge in Korea among KOICA fellows and Cambodia officials and to promote mutual and friendly relationship and partnership between Korea and the Cambodia and to establish a multilateral network of specialists from many disciplines, professional fields, institutions and agencies who have been beneficiaries of KOICA-sponsored scholarship and training programs.
I also believe that this is a clear indication of the warm support and interest of the members toward the Association and its activities. I hope every member of CAMKAA will continue to contribute to the development of the Cambodian economy, and also strengthen ties between our two countries. The KOICA Cambodia Office will continue its support of CAMKAA.
Lastly, it’s our sincere hope that KOICA will give an extensive opportunity and pleasant experience for all the Cambodia people, especially for the Cambodian Officials to gain more knowledge and share Korea’s perspective on the development issues and how to reduce the poverty in the country based on its own past experience.
